Two new acquisitions of Artservis’ Collection

Artservis’ Collection is richer for two newly arrived works: a project of Josip Pino Ivančić DEVASTATIONS to the N-th power (2008) and Andrej Rozman – Roza with Radovan Jenko Placarding Overpriced (2006).

Ivančić’s work is an intervention in the shape of artist text in catalogue of Multimeridijan 08 exhibition. With this intervention the artist draws attention to the prevailing practice in the system of organizing contemporary art exhibitions, where the artist is never partaking in the distribution of funding or does not receive any fees for their work in the opposition to other authors on the exhibition (curators, technical advisors, translators etc.) who are decently paid for their job.

Rozman and Jenko have realised an action in public space by over-pasting the billboards and doing so pointed out that in Ljubljana it is extremely difficult to organise small cultural events. In Ljubljana even the cheapest billboard places far surpass the funding capabilities of the majority of cultural workers.
